What was I thinking? Somehow I spaced off the CFBA's kind offer of a pre-review-copy for this, Collins' fourth installment in the Kanner Lake series of incredibly tight, suspenseful, thrillers. But I don't have to read it to know that if you're a sexist, and discriminate against female authors because their work is too ... shall we say ... female? Collins will change your cast-in-concrete mind. I have never read a more entertaining author. But my use of the descriptor, "Entertaining," must be viewed with a disclaimer. If you enjoy typically mild Christian fiction, without honest, transparent depictions of believers under extreme stress, be prepared for an eye-opener. True, Collins' novels, due to their themes, must contain more graphic depictions of frightening circumstances than some, but she never once includes gratuitous violence or gore. And she writes from an uncompromisingly Biblical/Christian worldview.
Get this book, and hang on for the ride.
